Because one land without its people, will be only land.

The current 300 people who live in Parada are less than one third of those who, just like JOA, had to migrate to other stops over the last 20 years. Those who remained in the village, stayed with stone, lime and heart, preserving the purity and authenticity of Parada, which lead Joa and many others to return without the feeling of ever been appart.

More than a winery, CASA DO JOA is also a deserved tribute to Parada’s people: the candor of Mrs Carminda, the generosity of Mr Ramiro or the simplicity of Mr Jorge. People who made this space its land, to which CASA DO JOA wants to give voice in the body of an unique wine that carries the essence of all our love to Alto Transmontano.

More than a Winecellar, the CASA do JOA is also a deserved tribute to the people of Parada.
